Eddie Marshall, a sax and flute man, digs a warm and fuzzy sound. On Cookin for You he concocts a contemporary jazz fiesta of Latin rhythms. Two cats from Pat Methenys band, Paul Wertico and Steve Rodby, are part of bands which run in size from four to nine. That latter packs a punch. The approach is easy going. A few cuts challenge players creative juices, the best example being Pachelbels Canon in D: done in 6/8, the pieces solemn mood is ingeniously altered to embrace an expression of pure joy.
