Westbound (For Riders Only) The EP
This is the underground classic EP release that introduced Mac & A.K. to the game. The album was originally released by Mac & A.K. independently in 1996. This album garnered Mac & A.K. rave reviews from many hip hop publications such as Rap Sheet, Rap Pages, Murder Dog, Ill Tip, The Loop and many others. This album was so hot at the time, it afforded Mac & A.K. the oppurtunity to do shows from Cali, to New York, to Atlanta, to New Orleans, to Miami and back. They were already signed to Tommy Boy Records when this EP was allowed to hit the streets which is very rare. Tommy Boy allowed them to eat independently while they finished up their debut Tommy Boy releases entitled "Drastic Measures Vol. 1 and Vol. 2". Neither album was released as Mac & A.K. chose to leave the label to pursue other avenues such as creating their own label to release their Hot brand of West Coast funk.
