iconoclast: One who attacks and seeks to overthrow traditional or popular ideas or institutions. Iconoclast is a band that embodies its definition through what has been called “an aggressive wall of sound” by delivering powerful, poetic lyrics engulfed by melodically driving, incendiary musical arrangements. Iconoclast formed in May 2004 when the members singer Marc Bourgon, bassist Mike Korn, guitarist Mike Corkum, and drummer Mars Dej began months of writing and producing song concepts threaded from their varied musical backgrounds. Iconoclast began to find its sound. Making a name for themselves in their hometown of Ottawa, Iconoclast quickly became one of the biggest draws in the independent music scene around the city. Playing to sold out crowds at Café Dekcuf, Mavericks, Zaphods, Babylon, Capital City Music Hall, The Live Lounge, and Barrymores. It wasn’t long before promoters in other cities took notice and Iconoclast was playing to audiences throughout Ontario, winning several ‘battle of the bands
