Music and writing have always been a part of this talented 17 year olds life. Writing poetry at age seven started the creative journey. At 11 years old he auditioned for Americas Got Talent His dance was unlike anything people had seen at that time and he declared dancing as his first love. The more he danced the more he discovered his love for music and then he began creating beats at the age of 12 years old. While he continued to work on his gift of dance he started began to develop his additional gift of producing music. As his love for musical composition developed he noted a desire to give voice to the melodies. Using the now well-developed poetic styling, he began to write lyrics to his innovative beats creating thought provoking and heartfelt utterances. The first song written for this project was Battle of the mind. He felt like his listening audience would identify with songs focused on his religious beliefs and intertwined with the experiences in his life. What once was a hobby for him became a passion. When he began writing for God his heart changed and his goal as well. He chose to write more music like this not knowing where it might lead him. He used to write with the intention of being famous having a lot of money with everyone knowing who he was. Now he hopes that as he impacts lives with his music the struggle to develop musically will not bein vain. The 5 songs here tell an emotional journey through his life entailing the struggles and freedoms that dealt with around the 4 years of high school. Jamil wants the music to influence people’s thoughts and decisions in their life. He also wishes to see people enjoy his music and that the message in his music turns into a movement never seen before.
