Mr. Smooth Bio Recording artist Mr. Smooth, born Wesley L. Murray. Born in Savannah La Mar Westmoreland Jamaica. As a young man Wesley had a passion for music and knew early on in life it was what he wanted to pursue. After finishing high school Wesley took notice of his older brother who was into music promotion. His older brother would promote local talent shows and various concerts. Wesley knew at that time he wanted to play his part and wanted to be in the music business. He started out by going to small parties and would DJ. Now a DJ in Jamaica was not the same as in the USA. When he would DJ it was more like Jamaican hip hop. He would Rhyme over beats with his own original lyrics. At time he had no artist stage name but people in the audience would call him Culture. Wesley took a liking to the name especially being that he was rhyming of Jamaican culture.
