Chrysalis This EP is Esther Thirimu’s first solo effort. The album explores a range of emotions, from love to despair, from gratitude to the solitude of deep loss. The songs are in English and Swahili, incorporating African and Latin rhythms blended with pop and country influences. The EP contains five songs and one remix, representing collaborations with some of Tokyo’s premiere indie music talents, including producers Toshiyuki Yasuda and David Jimenez. Esther weaves alternately soothing and soaring vocals creating an excellent choice for music lovers seeking a new experience. Esther Thirimu Esther is a Kenyan singer-songwriter based in Tokyo, Japan. She was involved in several gospel, RnB, jazz, soul and rock music projects before she decided to pursue a solo music career in March 2014. She has sung on a number of popular TV shows in Japan, including Nodojiman the World and Monomane Grand Prix, and provided live backup vocals for major local and international artists, such as Mariah Carey and Kato Miliy
