Warparty: When War Is Art (feat. Johnny Guitar)

Warparty: When War Is Art (feat. Johnny Guitar)

These Warparty songs were written between 1985 and 1988, recorded in 1989 on a one-inch tape recorder at Ohio City Recording and on the Rogne Records label. "When War Is Art" is a great anti-war, anti-imperialism, anti-industrial-arms-complex song. To me, John Christopherson's guitar interpretations express the anger and frustrations of war. In his guitar, I can hear fighter jets flying and buzzing overhead. This song was written before the first Iraqi war, and unfortunately, it is as pertinent today as it was then. "Been Down" tells of how love and faith can pick one up. "Space Station" is a song about water ecology. "Love in Danger" is a working-man's song. Cover photo by Dave Thum
