Scraper formed in Birmingham, U.K. in 1994 - and comprised of Nigel Smethills (Guitars , Vocals), Paul Green (Bass Guitar) and Richard Childe (Drums, Vocals). Fuelled by real ales, kebabs and pasties, Scraper played all over the UK, both as headline and support, with notable followings in Birmingham, London and Cardiff. The bands first demo in 1994 was well received by the fanzines and was quickly followed by a 10 track demo early in 1995. 5 of the tracks from that session were later re-recorded for an E.P. but ended up as the second side of the "Built With Hate" album. Scraper were to release a 5 track E.P. through Tribal War Records in 1995, however due to issues at the label the deal fell through. Late in 1995 Household Name Records released the "Last House on the Left" album, featuring the Scraper track "The Shocks". 1996 saw the release of the album "Built With Hate", again on HHN with some assistance from Tribal War, which received rave reviews including a 4/5 in Kerrang and 4.5/5 in Terroriser Ma
