Mr.Hong
I am a student, an artist and a teacher. I am a second-year intended Business and Economics Major at UC Berkeley. In high school, I discovered my love for hip hop music. I am on a quest to find, chop, and mix the perfect sample. I mix hip hop elements with different, often completely polar, genres. I use classical elements with hip hop sounds and 808s with Asian instruments. I am heavily influenced by producers such as J. Dilla, Nujabes, Jeftuz, NeguimBeatz, Wayvee, Knxwledge, The Quiett, Clazziquai, Mr. Carmack, 9th Wonder, and Black Milk. Now, I am an Arts and Entertainment reporter for the Daily Californian, focusing on exposing Northern California's ever-growing hip hop culture. Now, I am also a member of Berkeley's Rotaract Club as well as being the Marketing Director of Rotaract District 5160, which encompasses a large range of Northern Californian colleges. I was born and raised in California and will live here forever. This is my home.
