
Geraint Jones Singers
The Welsh organist, harpsichordist, and conductor, Geraint (Iwan) Jones, studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London.\r \r Geraint Jones made his debut as harpsichordist in the National Gallery in 1940. Subsequently he gave numerous recitals as an organist, often on historical instruments in Europe. In 1951 he founded the Geraint Jones Singers and Orchestra, which he led in many performances of Baroque music. He also was a music director of the Lake District Festival from 1960 to 1978, a music director of the Kirckman Concert Society from 1963, artistic director od the Salisbury Festival of Arts from 1972 to 1977, and artistic director of the Manchester International Organ Festival from 1977.
