INTERMISSION are a three piece act from Derry, Northern Ireland. Consisting of two former members of WARNER signed 'Kharma 45', Glenn, guitar and vocals; and Phil, drums; and also Bradley, formerly of local Derry bands 'Empire' and 'Northern Lights', on bass.Together they deliver strong upbeat melodic indie music with enough balls to take on Pat Butcher and an energetic live show thats dripping with hard work and sweat, often finishing with blood on guitars!During their time in 'Kharma 45' Glenn and Phil had the privilege of living two years on the road touring round the UK and Ireland in the back of a splitter van, playing almost every festival from 'READING AND LEEDS' to 'T IN THE PARK', 'Rockness' and 'Hyde-Park Calling' and supported such bands as 'WE ARE SCIENTISTS', 'KASABIAN', 'Live', 'One Night Only' and 'Faithless'.INTERMISSION was born after Glenn and Phil left 'Kharma 45' feeling it had ran its course and that they had lost all love for it. It was time to do something they believed in. Glenn has spent months locked in a small bedroom in Derry bashing out demos. After many long arduous nights he and Phil decided to take it to the next level and get a band going again, this time with strict rules that they could do whatever they wanted. An ethos all members hold dear to their hearts. Being like minded, and a childhood friend of Glenn, this manifesto appealed to Bradley who joined the duo on bass.With a string of highly successful shows around Northern Ireland and having been the judges favourite in worldwide songwriting competition 'YouBloom', Intermission are now recording their first album, all of which has been recorded mixed and mastered by Glenn, in his bedroom.INTERMISSION have received airplay on 'BBC Introducing…' and are receiving regular airtime on many regional stations across the UK and Ireland. They also secured and played a support slot for NME favourites 'The Courteeners' on the strength of their Myspace demos.Intermission are currently recording new material (again doing the whole process themselves) and touring throughout Ireland over the next few months. They plan to release their first EP, in both CD and Download format, in September.
